My Reasons
Before my reasons for going organic I'll share how it all started. My boyfriend bought me an oil defuser. It was one of those snowball effect situations. After I started buying essential oils, & researching more about the benefits of aromatherapy I found loads of information about DIY beauty recipes & the chemicals that are in conventional products. So I started to search for great companies that have the same passion for non-toxic. I discovered a whole new community!
Thats how I was inspired to change my lifestyle, not just the things I use. At the end of 2015, I made a resolution to get started. Now in 2017 I am continuing my journey & sharing it with you! So without any more rambling I will list my reasons to go organic.
My Experience
Once I started experimenting with oils, and making my own beauty products I found that it made my daily routine more enjoyable. I also love discovering brands to support such as Calia, Acure, Shea Moisture, & The Honest Company. I am excited to find new products and companies to try out in the future!
The Planet
I love all animals & want to be more aware of how I affect them, and the planet. Just one example of how an organic lifestyle will help are microbeads. The little microbeads in some products are man made plastic balls that go into your drain, which can end up in the ocean & animals eat them! Organic products don't use man made chemicals or microbeads. In fact a lot of organic companies have environmental initiatives, & they use recycled packaging. Lastly, I believe that God created this planet with everything we need to be happy.
You're worth it
Don't make excuses about how you don't have time, money, or the energy. You don't have to switch them all overnight. Pick one product, research an organic solution that fits your needs & budget, use up your old one, & then purchase the organic version. Its a process. You are worth the time and energy so make time, & get energized! I am on year 2 of my organic product switch. Have patience and have fun. Your body is consuming these nasty chemicals; Parabens, Synthetic colors, Fragrances (which can have up to 300 chemicals alone), Phthalates, & Formaldehyde to list just a few.
We as Consumers
If you're an organic consumer you are supporting yourself, the environment, the organic brands, and other organic people. Stand up and say No to these terrible chemicals. If more people want organic items then the market will have to support our demand for it.
No Negatives
You are taking care of yourself, the environment, supporting companies that care about you & the environment! It's fun & the organic community can lead you to discover other things that will change your life. Since going organic I have also found a passion for minimalism, stainable & ethical fashion, & fair trade.
I hope you have enjoyed this and that you can consider switching over to the organic side! Stay tuned for more nerdy blog posts!
