Natural Summer Glow

Let's hear it for that natural summer glow! I know that it's already pretty late into summer but I thought I would show you my tanning essentials. I did try out some new products as well, so I'll dish about those.
I'm pretty pale...but I tan really well. Everyone assumes that because I'm fair skinned, I burn! I just avoid tanning so I end up really pasty. I got a nice tan during my vacation & didn't have any sunburn, or tan-line incidences. Whew! That's all thanks to my Babyganics SPF 50 sunscreen. What do you do when you want to keep up the glow? I'll share that with you today.

Step 1; Exfoliate
You have to think about the base before you slather on the tanner!  Always take care of your skin. Exfoliation is key, so get a body scrub!  If you'd like to take this step into your own hands, I have a DIY Scrub recipe here

Frank Body:

Shimmer Bomb Kit: Shimmer Coffee Scrub, Shimmer oil, & Illuminator

I saw this company on Instagram & decided to test it out. They make non-toxic, cruelty free products in Australia. I did see 'fragrance' in the ingredients list, which when not specified could be multiple chemicals, so I don't think I'll be buying this brand again. It is fun to try new products though! I really like the constancy of the scrub & the coffee scent isn't overpowering. The glow is real! I'm in love with the Illuminator.

Living Libations:
Verve Tonic, & Best Skin Ever Rose

Dry brushing is another way to exfoliate while also benefiting your lymphatic system. I like to use this Verve Tonic EO blend on my brush. It's also important to moisturize after you exfoliate. I like using Living Libations Best Skin Ever Rose as a face serum so my tan is never patchy. To moisturize my body, any oil or lotion will do! Although some tanning products suggest not using lotion before applying. Make sure you read your instructions carefully!

Step 2; Get your Tan on
This is what this whole post is about...the tanning products! There are a lot to choose from. You can get it as a makeup tan, spray tan, or gradual tan! Next summer I'm very interested to test out EcoTan, so stay tuned for that. I'll probably have a compare/contrast post.

Vita Liberata

Self Tanning Gradual Lotion, Beauty Blur Cafe Creme, Trystal Bronzing Minerals in Sunkissed

This company has non-toxic tanning products free of parabens, perfume, alcohol, & other harmful chemicals. I actually heard about this company from Emma Watson. Check it out here

I wanted a natural tan so I went for the Gradual lotion. I'm enjoying it very much. I appreciate that it's odorless! I'm loving the Trystal Bronzing Minerals because it isn't orange-y! The glow is legit, & I'm a fan. The Beauty Blur is just a BB cream that I wanted to try. It looks great when you blend it out with a damp beauty blender.

My routine is pretty straight forward. In the shower, I exfoliate with the Frank Body Shimmer Scrub, & then the Acure Brightening Scrub on my face. After my skin is dry I apply the Gradual Tan Lotion in circular motions (use sparingly on feet, knees, elbows, & hands). Once that sets in I moisturize to keep skin nourished. While applying my makeup I contour with the Trystal Bronzing Minerals, then sweep across the face & neck for an overall glow. Then I use the Frank Body Illuminator on my cheekbones & collar bone. Before heading out I use the Frank Body Shimmer Oil to be a little extra ;)
I don't use tanning beds, or lay out in the sun without sunscreen.  I enjoy having a light tan but I also love my fair skin as well! Use SPF 50 everyday. Part of getting the "glow" is taking care of your skin!

So that is everything I wanted to share! I hope you enjoyed this post & that you are inspired to find your summer glow. Stay tuned for more!
